Try logging back in as the user and see if the message goes away.
The profile path would show 'C:\Users\jdoe.' You just need to delete the S-1-5-18 because it was associated to that user profile path. In this screenshot below, lets pretend that S-1-5-18 was associated with a user named jdoe. When you find it, just delete complete Folder associated with that profile. Look for the ProfileImagePath and look for the user account that is having this issue. 'KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows I logged out the user account and logged into another one and since the profile was deleted due to being a temporary profile, I opened 'regedit' and navigated to the following path: To verify this I went to the following settings: 'Looked under System > Advance System Settings > Advance Tab > Settings under User Profiles and user account was marked as a temporary profile' I've seen this happen before as the user account then becomes a temporary profile. When she logged in as the user who's account profile was deleted, that was when this message displayed. I just had a user call stating that they received this error due to deleting a user profile from the C:\Users directory.
